colors of spring

spring is slowly arriving, it's definitely taking its time this year. these are just a few of the colors that are starting to appear around my neighborhood. i love the flowering trees, but boy do they mess with my sinuses!

garuda II

just can't get enough of them garudas!! i'm trying to find the perfect composition, so i can make a print of a garuda over the summer.

spine tree

this is from a project i'm working on for a physical therapy office. you might recognize the tree from a previous post, but this is its true intention. the idea is that our spines, pelvis/legs, ribs, shoulders and arms are all locked together, if one area is off it effects the 'whole tree'.
steve thinks i should have it made into a t-shirt...i can't decide...
would you wear a shirt with this on it?

garuda

this is more like half garuda and half dragon? in 2000 i went on a school field trip to cambodia, where a friend and i discovered garudas at the ankgor wat temples. i was spellbound by these creatures, and we just had fun saying the word as many different ways as possible.

awaiting transplant

such a delicate heart in its cradle all stitched, plugged,bruised. heart transplants absolutely amaze me. what a miracle...

ohhhh, little monkey! i think he might just be the smallest one on the planet.

stencils

this canvas had been on the 'back burner' for so long i thought i would take it to school with me and add some stencils to it. definately looks better, but needs a lot more.

Q shoe?

just a silly doodle...
a 'Q' angel (my favorite letter) and a flying penny loafer! what ever happened to the penny loafers? and who came up them?

buttons

have you ever seen a bee flying around with an umbrella (ella ella eh eh...) above a pile of buttons and toggles?
me either!

tessellation

a couple of my classes have had tessellation assignments, and i just couldn't resist trying one myself!

the hunter and the hunted. the predator and the prey. which one are you?

snow owl

who? who? that's right...
owls remind me of my mom, for several reasons... but the main reason is because she has so much wisdom. and for some reason owls have been associated with wisdom for - well - a long time! wonder why, do you know?

egypt

i love the seriousness on this mans face and of course the camel is so cute. someday it would be great to go to egypt, but there's other places i would rather go first!
